Week 57: OKTÓBER 24

"Look at the world:
Everything all around us
Look at the world:
and marvel everyday

Look at the world:
So many joys and wonders
So many miracles along our way......

"Think of the spring,
Think of the warmth of summer
Bringing the harvest
Before the winter's cold
Everything grows
Everything has a season
Till it is gathered to the fathers fold

Praise to the O Lord for all creation
Give us thankful hearts that we may see
All the gifts we share and every blessing
All things come of thee
Every good gift
All that we need and cherish
Comes from the Lord
In token of his love
We are his hands
Stewards of all his bounty
His is the earth and his the heavens above."

This song has been playing through my mind this week. There's something about fall that just makes me emotional. My heart feels so grateful for family and the beauty of the Earth. My city is very beautiful right now with all the changing leaves. Here are some of this week's miracles.

- we had an exchange with the STLs. They came to our city and I got to be with Sister Adriano from portugál. She speaks 5 different languages! Portuguese, Spanish, English, French, and Hungarian. 🙀 We stopped a woman in the park and I began speaking with her in Hungarian. Turns out she is from Brazil and speaks Portuguese! She and sister Adriano started speaking together!

As we continued the conversation in english she told us she had never spoken with Mormons before but saw them all the time back home. She said she was interested to learn more and expressed how the past week she had been praying and searching for guidance so it was really strange that we thought to stop and talk to her. ( I love when we follow the spirit and people are surprised. They're like how did you know I needed this😏) What's more, she told us she was attending the university here in Eger and guess what she's studying?...Music! I told her how I was currently working on my auditions and she offered to let me use some of the free practice rooms! We got her facebook and later she texted me saying she was looking into the MDT major at BYU. This whole experience showed me just how aware God is of me.
1st -it was a awesome she was from Brazil because I best friend is serving there.
2nd- it showed me that God is aware I am trying to do these auditions. They have felt like a bit of a blockade in my mind. Like in my head God is frustrated when I have to work on them and just wants me to get back to "real missionary work." But God cares about me. Not just me as a missionary or me when I teach 5 lessons. He cares about the details of my life and he knows exactly what I'm dealing with as I work through these auditions.

- The second miracle from the week was meeting with the 3 teenage girls we are teaching.  We had a chocolate dipping party ( we ended up burning the entire bar of chocolate haha) and then having a lesson. We read from the Book of Mormon and taught how God is our loving Heavenly Father. We challenged them to find quiet moments this week when they could feel God's love. At the end of the week they all sent us their "quiet moment pictures" one was of the sunlight peeking through the clouds, another sent us a photo of she and her grandma picking pears. It's really a joyfully feeling to tell them that God is there and have them find it in their own lives.

- we met with zuzsi, Katalin, Betti, and Érzsi this week. I love our members!
One of our members made us homemade donuts.

-2 new people FINALLY came to English class! One was a lady who saw our sign outside and another was a teenage boy who we met 2 days prior. He came up to us and told us we were cute.. we explained why we were here but still got his facebook. Maybe he only came to English class to hang out with us but it's better than all the grouchy guys😂

-Thursday was  great day! Friday was just a bad day for both of us. But it made our next day better. We noticed that neither of us laughed once on Friday so we made a goal to laugh more on saturday and it worked. Thst day was so much better.
-Final highlight is that we finished The Chosen series. (Which I guess is a low point too because now it's over and we have to wait for the next season to come out.) But I love t
-The Chosen!!! It makes the stories of Christ come to life. I would highly suggest you all watch it!

Helaman 12:1
And thus we can behold how false, and also the unsteadiness of the hearts of the children of men; yea, we can see that the Lord in his great infinite goodness doth bless and prosper those who put their trust in him. This week I was greatful for the reminder that God is consistent. Some days I seriously feel like a squirrel where I turn my head at every piece of news I hear, comment I read on facebook, or bit of new information that comes my way fighting for my attention. It is very good to be open minded, but sometimes it can be overwhelming hearing so many different opinions every day. When I start my day with prayer or reading the words of God, I feel it is much easier to decipher which voices I should listen to.

Here is the link for "Look at the World" by John Rutter if you'd like to listen to the entire song. It is so appropriate for this time of year!
