EXCHANGES & BUG JUICE: Week 4
Then we got to have lunch with one of the church Hungarian translators!!! He is the man who does the voices for President Nelson for all the conference talks in Hungarian which is sooo cool. He speaks English and Hungarian fluently and their family is incredible. They live in Györ and invited us over to celebrate their 2 year old son's birthday party. We sang Hungarian birthday songs and then lots of hymns and Christmas songs. Their entire family can all sing really well (and so could my comp and the 2 other sisters we were with) so we sounded like a beautiful little christmas choir in their living room singing all the different voice parts to the christmas songs. It was magical.
FUNNY
-I fell off my bike on the way to the grocery store this morning. That was eventful and luckily I did not get hurt too bad haha
- A kid name “T” that comes to our English class invited us to come to his school halloween party in a couple weeks! His dad who always comes with him told us that it was happening. I guess he told the people who are putting on the party that he knew two American girls who could explain a little bit about Halloween! Halloween is not celebrated here by the older generation, but a lot of the younger generation thinks it's awesome and very American and they want to know more about it! Haha.
-We made home made fresh pressed grape juice with “H”from her grape vineyard! A centipede most definitely got crushed into it and then when we finished crushing the grapes, she pulled out cups and had us drink it. So YAY extra protein eating crushed centipede.
OUR PEOPLE
We are hopefully setting a date for “K” and her son for baptism tonight, and we also asked a lady that comes to church almost every week named “M” to get baptized and she said she wants to! SO COOL.
SPIRITUAL
This week, I have been thinking so so much about Jesus Christ. I realized that so much of love is sacrifice. God is a Father who loves his son. He sacrificed his son because he loves us so much. Jesus Christ then sacrificed for all of us because he loves us. We have to sacrifice some things that we love ( such as bad habits or sins or addictions) in order to show God that we love him! You think about how much parents sacrifice because they love their children, and I think when we sacrifice our time or our talents or the things we love, it really shows God that we love him too!
-Meetings with our friend “H” was amazing. She is so so kind to us. So giving. She makes food for us and we talk to her about the Book of Mormon. She loves the Book of Mormon but she is not the kind of person that we usually try to push things with. This Saturday we went over to house and she made us the most amazing meal. We asked her if she had read the intro to the Book of Mormon we had left her. She hadn't so we read it outloud in Hungarian and English with her husband sitting right there! I got to recite James 1:5 and the first vision in Hungarian!! I felt the spirit so strong and her husband got to ask questions about it. It was just the most incredible feeling. I cannot wait to keep teaching her.
