Szia szia! Week 2 in Hungary!

Hi everyone! This week I felt the pure love of Christ. I saw it in the people I'm trying to talk to and serve. When you look for good you will find it! I'm organizing my email a little differently today to answer a couple questions you guys have had!
Fruit from our friend Heni's Garden!

Weather: rainy some days, very sunny on others. Nice warm breeze. It's so fun for fall. It will get a lot colder coming up here though!

Covid situation here: pretty non existent in my city of Pápa. Masks aren't required and lots of people don't wear them which is kind of nice!

Where we traveled to: on Wednesday we went to Ajka and on Thursday we went to Győr. Both about an hour away. We visited a sweet older lady in a rest home who can't come to church anymore and brought her flowers. We bought an extra flower to give to someone. When I gave it to one woman she shook her head and said nem, and miért? Which means "why?" haha. We told her it was free and to have a nice day. She eventually took it and smiled. Thursday we went to Győr to give the sisters there some keys. We spent the rest of the afternoon there walking around the city, it is absolutely gorgeous. I felt like Belle.

Here's where one of the funniest things happened. We had just gotten our bagels after about 30 minutes of waiting at this restaurant. We had to catch our bus, but we were both so hungry. We took a bite and ran to our bus. With our To Go boxes in hand, my comp said, ok sister Jones ask the bus driver if this bus is going to our city. I mustered up my courage and asked him in Hungarian. He responded and my comp took my hand and got off. She said ah darn, we can't bring our food on the bus. I was determined to eat it cause I was so hungry, so we went around the corner and found a bench. I shoved both our sandwiches into one container and started putting it in her bag when the bus driver cam around the corner! I was like oh nooo I've been caught. But then he and my comp started laughing together.I was very confused. Apparently we misunderstood him and he had said " oh did you girls bring me lunch?" And we had run away. He told us he was just kidding and that the bus was going to Pápa, and we could bring food on his bus haha. I always seem to think I'm in trouble here since I don't know what people are talking about 😂

Grill with Heni: this we we had a barbecue with our good friend Heni and her husband and son. They made us Hungarian Kolbasz!

General conference with Dora: we watched one session of General conference in Hungarian with our new convert! She's 19 and the coolest.

General conference cookies: Van Wagoner and I made conference cookies for all our friends and delivered them.

Spiritual thought:
a miracle we witnessed this week was being able to go over to the Baurék home for lunch. They are some of the strongest members I have ever seen. István had his computer open and started playing my Peace in Christ video! He kept playing it and saying the word "strong" in Hungarian. Saying how strong my voice was! It was such a miracle for me to see that my video had actually reached someone in Hungary. I feel so honored that the Lord has be able to use me to reach other people.

Conference quote: In life we aren't walking towards Jesus christ. We're walking WITH him. I love that. I love to imagine he's right by our side, guiding us every step of the way!

Have a wonderful week!! 💗💗
Love,
