WEEK 17 : WHAT COULD YOU BECOME?

GUESS WHAT? I reach my 6 months of being a missionary this week. As I pondered this yesterday, the thought came to mind of what someone can become in just 6 months. Moving to an entirely new country? A foreign language? Changing your surroundings to associate with entirely new people and a new culture? All totally possible. With enough dedication and hard work really, we could all create any life we wanted. But I think the reason I have seen the biggest change is though God's help. When I put God first, that thought of serving God drives my thoughts and actions. The thought of following his son Jesus Christ and one day, becoming like God himself. There's no time to waste! I think about how God sent his son Jesus Christ as the perfect example for us to follow. He is kind, diligent, patient and so much more.

So when you think about how much you could change about your life in just 6 months, think about how much MORE could change if you involved the most powerful and loving being in the universe to help you do it. You could become a Broadway star, marine scientist, an aerospace engineer, anything. But to become any of those things, or anything great you need a really good drive. So why not have that drive be to become like Christ? To love, to serve, to be humble, to work hard, to keep progressing. This is the best part about life. That because Jesus Christ atoned for all sins and slip ups and ups and downs, we don't have to ever have to get stuck! We don't have to become stagnant or discouraged because of the hope that repentance brings. We ask God to help us improve, and he will! "I can do ALL things through Christ which strengtheneth me." -Philippians 4:13 ALL things. That means every day struggles of being a mom, school when it's hard, work, ect, all the things we don't even think relate to Jesus Christ. But everything relates. That's another thing I have learned. My life used to be categorized into "church stuff" and then "real life stuff." But by fusing those two, life is a lot happier and makes progress easier and more fun.

This week was lots of fun. We went to Budapest for an exchange! By some miracle I got us to Budspest from our small city Pápa. I got to be companions with Bauerfeind Nővér from Germany.
She's awesome. I also finally received my Christmas package from my family. (Only took 2 months to get here haha) We opened it with everyone that night. I gave everyone a little gift to open and we all listened to Christmas music and drank the hot chocolate my family sent. So much fun. The next day, we made German pancakes and the other comps ran to a market to grab some some fresh lemons and strawberries.

We then split for the day and Bauerfeind Nővér got to teach a Book of Mormon referral. Super cool experience, but they had some very very different beliefs.

We painted Books of Mormon with member in Budapest to give out to our friends!

District service activity here in Pápa! We made kokusz golyót ( like chocolate coconut balls) and wrote notes to all the members. We then walked around and delivered them!
Getting hot chocolate with our new member Dora.

Good News!
Z came to church this week!!!!! We met her in the main square and walked with her to church. She stayed for sacrament and Sunday school and I even heard her trying to sing along to the hymns a little bit! I think she really enjoyed it. We can't wait to meet with her again this week.

Thats all from me! Have a great week everyone! 💗Jones Nővér
