Week 58: God is in the Details

We met with "E" and "D" again. Oh I love them so much. They remind me how out of the loop I am with things back home. Like random tik tok phrases or sayingsπŸ˜‚ We met at our branch house and made hot chocolate and officially taught them the first lesson. It was probably the best restoration lesson we have ever taught. They were so engaged and asked questions the whole time. The meeting was pretty long, about an hour and a half, but it flew by! (Usually lessons are supposed to be no longer than 45min) But it went too well. After we said the closing prayer, we looked up and both girls were squeezing each others hands, smiling. They said they felt so warm and happy, so full of light. One of the girls had explained how she had a really hard week, full of stress of school, quitting her job, and fighting a bit with her family. But she told us she couldn't wait for our meetings, and she always makes time for them because of how they make her feel. This gospel is REAL. The light of Christ and His doctrine truly changes lives.

Some other things that happened this week...

-HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!πŸŽƒπŸŽƒπŸŽƒπŸŽƒπŸŽƒ
- Great district activity in Miskolc!

District activity. We cleaned up some old property in a poor neighborhood. This will be a place where al the children can gather for events and holidays.

-  We met with "R" the one who we met last week from Brazil. She invited us to watch her choir practice! It was so fun to hear music like that again especially in an old European building with arched walls and the sound echos everywhere πŸ˜ After practice she introduced us to her from "M". We gave them both a tour of the branch house and even told them about BYU Pathways. They we pretty interested in that.

- New people came to English class again. We shared a great spiritual thought about spreading light

- We still do 20 push-ups every morning and every night πŸ’ͺ🏽

- Danneman NΕ‘vΓ©r choreographed an entire dance in a relatively short amount of time for an facebook video they are doing for the Hungarian mission. We scouted out beautiful spots in our city so that when Elder Price and Elder Ruggles came to film it was a success! While she choreographed I was able to work on my audition videos for the MDT program at BYU. This is number 5 out of 6 video's I have filmedπŸ˜… woohooo! Sister Danneman has been a huge help in making these videos happen. I'm so grateful we are companions at this time.

- We went street contacting with a white board in the middle of the square and got rejected left and right. Granted it was cold and getting a little dark, but people were ruthless. I approached a group of middle aged women and they all stared at me. I asked then what brought them hope and life and they said nothing. That was the response of most people and it was so sad..πŸ˜ͺ But the interesting things is that I more felt sorry for them and grateful for my own life and perspective and knowledge. Even though we may not have found anyone, I came away with a great appreciation for all the things I find hope in in my life.

Another couple thoughts I had this week...
I realized I am truly grateful for a modern day prophet. I will tell you why. When Elder Bednar came to our mission, he told us that as he was speaking to us, there was a meeting being held all the way across the world in Salt Lake. It was their weekly Thursday meeting held with the other apostles and with President Nelson to discuss some of the church programs, how they were run, and I'm sure a lot of other important things. He told explained that revelation was currently being received by the prophet. It was reaffirmed to me how true the statement is that God lives. That Jesus Christ lives. A living prophet and 12 apostles are proof of that. Revelation is being received every day and God is a constant participant and his great work. As long as we seek to receive new insights daily from God, to receive guidance in our personal lives, we will be ok. We will find joy and meaning even through the rough parts of our life. I am grateful for this living breathing gospel!

These past couple months, I have also seen that God KNOWS ME. He knows about my concerns and struggles. He knows we were frustrated by the people we were meeting with who were more interested in us than they were the lessons. We wanted to find some young girls who were ready to hear the gospel. We prayed, and we found them! I was stressed about my auditions, he sent me a companion who is an ARTIST and knows how to correct me. I was missing music and he helped us find "R", who is studying music at the University and she invited us to watch her choir practice. God is really in the details of my mission, and of my life. He is in thr details of all our lives we just have to look for it!!

Happy Halloween! -Jones NΕ‘vΓ©r πŸπŸ‚πŸŽƒ
