| Final Week of My Mission as I will return February 9, 2023 from Eger, Hungary ๐ญ๐บ |
"N": we taught her for the last time in her home. It was a tender last lesson as I tried my best to just listen to her. To ponder all her thoughts and questions and answer them honestly. She gave me a little pink bracelet and a Hungarian bible as a goodbye gift
When she hugged me she was teary eyed. I'm sad that I can't be here as she continues to progress, but I am so proud of how much she has progressed.
When she hugged me she was teary eyed. I'm sad that I can't be here as she continues to progress, but I am so proud of how much she has progressed. "M": the older lady with orange hair who lives in our same building. We met her when I was with Sister Danneman. We had the faith to go up and talk to these two older women on a bench and she ended up living in our same building!
We became great friends and made little cakes with her or would just try to visit or comfort her when she was lonely. I got to give her a Book of Mormon with my testimony and she gave me a little painted Hungarian egg in return.
"Mรณ": our favorite friend in English class. I unexpectedly told her that this would be my last week and she was so so sad. She looked at me and said "Oh Madlin... no." With tears in her eyes. And then hugged me. I didn't realize how much of and impact I had on her. She told us every time she came into English class it made her week to see us smiling. I learned something from "Mรณ" this week. In the past after teaching English classes I had felt so imperfect for not being able to teach a subject well or worried about if I said something wrong. "Mรณ" didn't care about that. That's not why she came. The fact that we even had free English and had positive attitudes and smiles was enough for her.
Book of Mormon challenge! This week we had a challenge to give away a Book of Mormon every day as a district. IT WAS AWESOME! It was actually my idea to the district leader because I wanted a good motivating challenge for my last full week. The first day we gave one away to someone street contacting, the second day we sent one in the mail to our friend, the third day we gave away one to our neighbor "M" who we have been friends with for a couple months, and the fourth day we gave two to our friends in English class! It has been so cool to give them away to the people we love.
Pizza place: after a hard day we decided to try a new pizza place. You're only living in Europe once! We got lots of pizza and each bought a bag of Italian cookies. Treat yourself

Game night: we had an awesome game night/ scripture share with new people this week. The Elders brought 4 new friends and our friend E came and brought snacks! It was sooo much fun.
We spent Saturday night with "E "and her older sister "A". We had a good last goodbye with them seeing a little lookout by their house, going to dinner and playing some board games. And guess what.. they promised to come to church next week to hear my farewell talk!!! I love them!
For a final small spiritual thought, I admire the faith that Nephi has. His consistency and ability to be patient is so admirable. In 1 Nephi 7 he says, " The Lord is able to do all things according to his will, for the children of men if it so be that they exercise faith in him. Wherefore let us be faithful unto him."
