Learning Hungarian and visiting the Bountiful Temple

Week 2-4 HOME MCT:

Hi everyone! I'm halfway through week 4! These past couple weeks have been so great! I feel like I'm truly the luckiest to serve with my district. All 14 of us will be going to Hungary! this will be the biggest group of missionaries going there and speaking this language. My mission is relatively small with only 1 stake, a temple that has yet to be built (but has been announced), and not many missionaries. So I feel like with this many missionaries coming in we can really make an impact! Look out, Hungary won't know what's hit 'em! I feel like the days are flying by. Here are some of the highlights.

SPIRITUAL:
- I felt the spirit reading from my Hungarian scriptures! For the first time, understood almost every word in the verse. It's 2 Nephi 2:25. "Adam fell that men might be, and men are that they might have Joy!" It was a very gratifying experience.

- I went to the temple this morning and felt so much peace as well as a lot of perspective about this life. Schedule and appointment at the temple, don't wait to feel joy!

- Nephi is super cool. I invite you all to read or re-read 2 Nephi 4. Look for what happens to Nephi when he remembers God!

FUNNY:
-soo "Alma" means apple in Hungarian. Direct translation haha. So we taught our first full Hungarian TRC (which is basically a role play with someone from the MTC who could be a real investigator but are mostly real members) And she gave us noo mercy. She spoke super fast and when we told her we were reading in Alma, she gave us a confused look. I didn't know how to tell her it was a name not a fruit so I ended up holding up my hands in a circle and saying "nem alma, hanem Alma" like 4 times haha.

- one of our teachers made us sing a hymn with all our mics off, a cappella.
(Video will be linked soon) Extra points to you if you can figure out what song it is!

- another funny Hungarian word. My comp and I learned body parts last week. LEG= Láb HEAD= féj FOOT= Lábféj , which translates to leg head, and toes translate to leg fingers. Not sure why, but that made my comp and I die laughing ahah. Hungarian is weird but sooo cool!

COOL
- I memorized the first vision in Hungarian!
