Week 15: Boldog újévet!! ⭐🥳

Nothing too crazy happened this week. A member named Piróska invited us over and she made us Tojásos galuska (like scrambled eggs and tiny dumplings) It was soo good!

Piróska is such a cool member. She proudly described how Pápa is like pepper. It's very small, but very strong! It's true. Our branch here in Pápa is very small. 20 people in church on a good week but the members faith and kindness is amazing. It effects they way they live and how they treat others. And it is so cool to see. After eating with her she also gave us poppy seed bread. In America, we use poppy seeds as a light addition to our foods. In this Hungarian dessert, they grind up tons and tons of poppy seed and it makes up about 60 perfect of the dessert. It's really good but definitely takes some getting used to. I went in the lunch appointment feeling pretty stressed, especially because I couldn't find her house and it was raining, but we left feeling so uplifted and hopeful.

This week we also got to celebrate new years with Heni and her family! They have been so kind to us so we thought we would do something to give back to them. My companion is a very talented pianist and can sight read almost anything. We went over to the branch house and decided to record some primary songs for them to listen to as a gift. Her son Áron actually goes to a music school. He loves music. Heni said when he heard our Christmas music video, he cried. Heni is also pregnant and she likes to play music for her baby. So we thought it would be perfect. We recorded "reverently, quietly," " a child's  prayers," and a few others that I loved when I was in primary and still love. After dinner we played them and her little boy did start to cry a little bit. It made them so happy. Even if their family isn't ready for the gospel right now, I know we have been able to have a really positive impact on their family.

My comp is a really hard worker, she loves making healthy food ( which is so awesome we have lots of fun making good meals together.) And she also LOVES to eat chocolate! Which is perfect because we have A LOT from Christmas and people just keep giving us more.

MIRACLES
I understood Klaudia! We had planned an entire lessons to teach to Rikárdo and he didn't show up with Klaudia. I asked why and she said he got a phone for Christmas so he was playing on it a lot. Which is understandable but it is still frustrating not being able to control the situation and just make him come to lessons and church. But she came into the lesson with so many concerns and I just tried to listened to her. Our plans went out the window. She talked about Covid and the prophet and all the things I definitely didn't have all the vocabulary for. But the gift of tongues was real. I had to focus with everything I had in me, but I think she left feeling much better than she came in. And I was so grateful to have been able to understand her. I've been really stressed about whether or not  saying the right thing. But I think this week I remembered that I'm really new at this and just need to do my best. And also if the members and our friends feel our genuine concern to help them, then they will be more open.

We got to go to Szombathely for our PDAY! Met up with our district and got Chinese food and went bowling. Sounds very European right? Haha

Have a great week everyone! Start doing come follow me also, it's sooo cool and I can't wait to continue reading the Old testament. Make it one of your new years goals to do it every day!
