Week 24: Moving to Budapest, SML, STL, and hard goodbyes

Ah my heart hurts a little. To be honest. I feel like I couldn't properly say goodbye. I got a transfer call on Saturday.. President Rucker called me and said hey, do you think you can come to Budapest by...tomorrow? Pack up all your stuff, say goodbye to all your people, and leave after church? I did it. It was so so sad. Leaving Dora, all the members, everyone. I mever got to say goodbye to Z or H ..I have to trust and pray so hard thst they are in God's hands.

And I know they are in Gods hands because guess what, God sent my MTC companion to my city!! Sister Jensen will be serving there with a greenie and training! So wild. Me and my last comp who just served in Pápa are going to completely different cities.

So yes. Now I have moved from tiny Pápa to big city Budapest. I am the social media leader and an STL. willllllld! But I am so so excited. Here are a couple highlights because today has been crazy and I don't have a lot of time to write
Pápa

Budapest

This past week :
- we had the most incredible lesson with Z.
We taught some 4 of the lessons that are usually hardest to teach to people, but she loved them! And has so many questions. She also talked to her mom about baptism, and her mom said she was OK with her being baptized! But she wants her to learn more
- my new companion is sister Smyth! She was in my mtc group. She's from San Francisco and I'm so so excited to serve with her!

- I love my last companion Sister Jensen so much. I learned alot from her. She is so authentic and real and stands up for what she believes in! I will be forever friends with her

-K and her kids came to church this week. They stayed for primary. K’s husband died last week from covid.. she had been leaning on the branch for support. She is so strong.
- our branch president and his wife drove us and all our luggage to the train station. They waited for us for 30 minutes and then waved until the train left. They are so special to me

- Ildikó found out that we were leaving and she stayed up making us a traditional Hungarian meal called rakott krumpli (a layered potato dish) and then this chocolate pudding. I'll never forget these people!!!!!!

Time to take on a new change! To make this time different  but a good different. Trust that the work us in God's hands. I'm going to study hard and stay close to the spirit. In the testimony meeting, one of the departing missionaries challenged us to find out how the spirit speaks to me, and then cling to that! I want to follow the spirit in everything I do this transfer. Always have a prayer in my heart.

D&C 8:8
Therefore, doubt not, for it is the gift of God...and no power shall be able to take it away out of your hands, for it is the work of God.
