Week 29: 🎂 TWENTIETH BIRTHDAY IN BUDAPEST
Ok. so technically my birthday is not until tomorrow, but today for P-day we got to celebrate a little bit! My district is so kind and wanted to make it special. It was so much fun. 🎂
We walked around the Fisherman's Bastian (a castle in Budapest that is stunning) and ate a restaurant that overlooks the Danube. Then we walked around the castle grounds, walked to a board game store and bough Mafia, then all went back to the mission home to play it together.
We also had a member invite us over for dinner tonight and we shared a super heartfelt spiritual message about Jesus Christ💗
This week I felt the POWER of knowing how much Jesus Christ loves us!! In John 13, Jesus knows that he is going to depart from the world, and says "having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end." It was just so sweet to read that and then continue to read in the following verses how Jesus served his disciples and washed their feet. I know we all say that God and Jesus Christ love us, but they really really do!!
This week's letter will be a little shorter, but I'll list a couple of the miracles we saw this week.
- We went and practiced an Easter song in the park and I brought my guitar. A lady walking her dog paused and smiled so big at us. She just looked so pleased and touched.
- We set up with 3 referrals that we got from and Ad on facebook that we made!
- We called many many many inactives and the majority of them were kind but not super interested. One lady picked up and was overjoyed! She called us "dragaságaim" and "édesegeim." Which means my dears and my sweets.
- We met with a new friend named B. He signed found our AD of Facebook and decided to meet with us. We met him in the park and taught about Jesus Christ and his gospel, and got to give him a book of Mormon!
- One day we were out street contacting and asking people how Hungarians usually celebrate Easter. We talked to one lady for a while on a bench and the woman next to her on the bench was also staring at us while we talked. We said hello to her after and she was actually a member! She got to witness some real life missionary work in action, which is cool because we have not been able to get in contact with her for a while.
- We had the chance to serve again at the Hostel for Ukranian Refugees. We cleaned windows for about 2 hours so that they can start putting blinds up in their rooms. It was such a good experience.
Life is good here! Hard but good. I love our Prophet President Russell Nelson. I have been exploring his 5 challenges for spiritual momentum. I picked one to focus on in personal study. I chose, "Learn about God and how he works." From this one exercise, I was reminded that God keeps promises always, God wants us to succeed, and God need us to have faith in him. I challenge you all to do the same, to pick one of these things that will help us gain spiritual momentum, and to work on it this week! I know your mind will be opened to all that God has to offer you. Have a wonderful week!
