WEEK 35: ZONE CONFERENCES!

How is it already May 23? This week was very busy!

We had three Zone conferences. Since my companion and I are the social media leaders of our mission, we go to every zone conference to give a training after the APs, but since we are also sister training leaders, we had to plan our own zone conference and speak at that too! So the mission heard a lot from us this week haha. We got to help plan food and all the activities which was really fun. We made tacos, did a speed walking streeting role play, and had very spirit filled devotional from 2 of our ward members.

For each zone conference our mission president wanted us to participate in a service project! For one, we potted over 500 small trees for the “Ten Million Trees” Foundation.

In another, we helped a Baptist Refugee Center in Érd. We did yard work, cleaned rooms and kitchens, and organized clothing donations. And for the last one we helped “The Workshop” in Budapest continue their work with Ukrainian Refugees with scrubbing and deep cleaning. Each was so unique and special, and a really good way to make a good impression on people as well as spend time with other missionaries.
The devotional portion of zone conference was really special because the two members who came to ours had actually been mission companions in Utah! Both are about 35 with a couple kids. One is Hungarian and the other is Ukrainian. The Ukrainian man named Alex started working for Dotera here in Hungary right before the war stared. He shared how he followed the spirit in making this big decision to move with his family. Here are a couple of my other take aways from what they shared, as well as our mission president..

1. Learn about your culture. Is your history is important to you? The Hungarian man named Béla shared how when he was called to serve in Utah he was frustrated, and not excited about it. He had a negative view of Americans. But he shared how he got to know our culture. He learned about what pioneers had been through, he learned to love our history. He encouraged us to learn about and understand the Hungarian culture. To learn the language and really dive into the history of the people here. He promised us we would come to understand the people so much better, and love them even more.
2. Did you know you have divine potential? Alex reminded us that God has so much for us to become. It is crucial that we remember that we are divine children of God! This life means progress. Learning and stumbling and growing and continuing that process for eternity!
3. Find JOY in the work. "If you missed the joy, you missed the whole thing." Just because we cannot see the fruits of our labors, does not mean we should stop going about doing good. God will bring forth the fruit if we continue to go about doing good.

Senior Missionary Leaders💗 I love so much!!

I am so grateful for my mission and my mission leaders. This was a week to reflect on how I need to find more JOY in the work. I need to stress less about the outcome and continue share the joy that a belief in Christ brings. My challenge for you is to think about which truths you know because of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ? How do those give you hope? Do you want other people to know that and feel that hope in their lives? Then go out and publish it. Publish that peace!

Mosiah 15:17- "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those who shall hereafter publish peace, yea, from this time henceforth and forever!"

Also, I got to see some of my favorite people from my home town all in one day!! My former Young Women's leader Camille Ebert and her family. She took me us to lunch😀
That evening Bishop Cory Brand and his wife Dayna took us to dinner. This happened all between the zone conferences in Budapest!
