Week 33: BUDAPEST STAKE CONFERENCE !

THIS WEEK WAS SO GOOD. Here is a super quick recap because I only have a couple minutes..

We taught "B" twice again this week. We taught him about Jesus Christ's life for our first lesson. The second lesson we taught, we read out of 3 Nephi 11. The spirit was palpable. We all shared personal experiences about the Holy Ghost. We teach him at the ward building with the APs.
One of the elders asked him about baptism and he said he could be potentially ready in 2 months! Which is crazy because I feel like we just met him. But we have had consistent lessons with him twice a week since we met, and he has never missed a week of church!

This week was Stake Conference and it was incredible. I will never forget the feelings that I felt in this meeting. There were about 400 Hungarians there! Oh my heart was filled with so much joy to hear everyone singing in Hungarian sitting next to our investigator. "B" also brought a friend! The Ruckers both spoke in Hungarian, (sister Rucker does not speak it but she tried her very best, and everyone could feel the spirit through her simple words.) My overall takeaway is that God's work cannot be stopped! It is such a joyful work, and we can all choose to take part in it.

Other awesome things that happened this week:
-Service project with a ward member, Luces. We got to help her surprise her husband and cleaned out her entire garage! It was so fun.

-An American family had us over for dinner for cinco de mayo/mothers day! We went with the mission president and his family along with their daughter who just came home from her mission in Brazil, the senior couple, the APs and a Hungarian family! All the boys in their family came out and gave us flowers. It was so sweet and so much fun to celebrate and get to know everyone. I LOVE PEST and the ward here! These people are so incredible.

- We went street contacting again and did a little switch. I got to be with Robinson Nővér who is from my MTC group. We went up to an old man on a bench who was reading a newspaper. Long story short, we sat by him, talked to him for 30 minutes, gave and gave him a Book of Mormon with our phone number in it! He was so touched and tried to pay us for it. It was one of the coolest interactions.

-Last P day, we went on a really green hike! Got lost a couple times, and a couple of spiders and snakes later we made it to the top!
- Today for P day we took a boat tour on the Duna. If you all make it to Hungary anytime soon ( which you all should) I would highly recommend you do this!

Spiritual thought for the week:
Alma 31: 5 And now, as the preaching of the word had a great tendency to lead the people to do that which was just—yea, it had had MORE powerful effect upon the minds of the people than the sword, or anything else, which had happened unto them—therefore Alma thought it was expedient that they should TRY the VIRTUE of the word of God. I love this scripture. People can be so effected by our words and by the convicing power of the spirit when we just open our mouths. More powerful than the sword. Our virtuous message has the power to lead others to do that which is just. It gives me so much hope!
