This week, we got to meet our missionary friends from the other half, the other side.
The Romanian STLs and ZLs came to Hungary for an in person mission leadership training conference. Our mission president told us about it 2 days before it was supposed to happen, so we had to plan quickly. But it was a huge success!

We had the chance to counsel with one another face to face. Usually we meet with them, but online. So it felt like a big close knit family hashing out the family issues and coming together with better ideas. The MLC (Mission Leadership Conference) included counsels focused on Jesus Christ, street contacting and companionship study with a missionary from Romania. (I got paired up with the other social media leader who's name is also Sister Jones)
The MCL also included yummy food, waffle night with our Mission President and his family, and a ride on the boat on the Danube.

I think this week I saw the power of being a natural light. Here are three small moments from my week that brought miracles from just being positive, alert, and friendly in public.
1. I asked a woman sitting beside me on the metro if she was learning French, I could see her practicing Duolingo. We had such a great conversation and in the end, she asked me if I had any contact I could give her. I couldn't find my pass along card, so she took her newspaper, wrote her email along the top, and gave it to me.

2. We were waiting at the bus stop for our friend and just smiling and chatting and holding the cake we were going to bring for relief society. This old woman with her arm in a cast kept glancing at us. She finally walked over and said "Szépek vagytok, ügyesek vagytok, fiatalak vagytok!" Which means, you are both so beautiful, clever and young. She was so sweet and we invited her to church for next week.
3. Because of the boat ride we got to take on the Danube, we made many friends in just the hour of time we were there. One of which, we ended up meeting with the next day and having lunch. She was from Quebec and spoke French and English. We gave her a tour of our church and also a French Book of Mormon.

This week the spirit emphasized to me the "change begins with you" mentality over and over again. I can try as hard as I can to make someone want to do something, but in the end I can really truly only control my own actions. If I want to change the mission culture, I can start by doing everything I want to be changed myself. The best person to change into is a Christlike person. I really do love the 13th article of faith, as it reminds me of how to become more Christlike. "We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things."
