Week 46: TRIALS AND MIRACLES ❤

Since we have all been talking about Job recently, here is my two cents about trials. Why do we have them? I have had people ask me this on my mission. But my parents have always given me very wise insight on this matter. Trials shape us. They are not a matter of unfairness or a result of how much God loves us. Even though it feels like that sometimes. Actually, all of our friends are going through some really intense trials right now. One lost her husband last year and is now struggling to find work, pay for her new apartment, and hold onto a dream she had of going abroad. Another has just moved for the first time since moving away from home and is trying to figure out a messy relationship problem, another one of our friends just had to put her mother into a retirement center, her mother can no longer speak but she cries every time she sings to her. Another has struggled with drugs and is trying to remember who they are and get their old life back.

As missionaries, we get this unique perspective on many different people's lives. People, for some reason, always really open up to us. How could there be one universal solution for such a wide array of difficulties? That is how I know that what we preach really is of Jesus Christ. I know that this is his church and it is led by Him. The gospel of Jesus Christ is not just another thing added on your to do list. The gospel of Jesus Christ IS the answer. It is healing, comfort, perspective moving on and overcoming.

I have seen these past couple weeks especially how the spirit has worked through me. I have been able to be the hands and the feet of Christ here on earth. For those who needed comfort and support. There is enough heart ache in the world already, we need to be the hands and feet of Christ here on this earth. In the zone conferences last week, our mission president shared this quote. “Christ has no body now on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours."

WEEKLY MIRACLES
- Our friend B has a baptism date! And guess what day, February 9th! That is the day before we go home!!! In the words of B. "That's definitely a sign."
- We had great member interactions this week. Our member named Ági had our investigator over for lunch with us. We talked, we laughed, we cried. They related over similar trials. I am so grateful for the members here.
- We taught our Ukrainian member voice lessons and the Bishop's daughter guitar. We sang at another members' house and sat around and played guitar. Music has been such a wonderful tool on my mission!
- We held another family home evening with my family from home and the Török family here.

- Our member Zsuszsi brought us YUMMY enchiladas.
