Week 48: MOVING TO EGER!!
I am getting transferred!!!
I am devastated to leave my current companion. I have learned so much from Sister Robinson. Being in this leadership role has taught me so much! I will be moving to EGER and TRAINING and WHITE WASHING (which means moving into a new apartment and new area where missionaries have not been.) It will be an ADVENTURE to say the least!
As I took pictures with the Törökék, the king family, and the two little girls from an American family living here, as well as many others in the ward, I realized how much I love the members here. As sad as I am to leave, I had many moments where I realized this would be my last conversation with many of my friends for a while. I could feel their love and appreciation for the efforts I have put in while serving here. It felt good and I knew God was proud of me.
Spiritual thought :)) This one is one of my favorites.
This week I studied trials, because let me tell you our friends are going through some. There is a talk I read by elder Bednar about tests. https://www. churchofjesuschrist.org/study/ general-conference/2020/10/ 12bednar?lang=eng .
Tests in our lives are a way to gauge how much we know and how much we still need to know. Just like during covid when we all checked up on our food storage and saw if we had sufficient supplies to last through earthquakes or viruses, in life our periodic tests are necessary to gauge how much we have learned, what we still need to learn, and how willing we are to depend on God. Tests can reveal inadequacies in temporal, spiritual and intellectual preparedness. They will make us feel exposed, aware, and conscious of what must change. That is why in life, we will not simply reach a point where we don't receive trials anymore. It is not some ladder of well I have reached ultimate health, success and wealth and righteousness, so now I no longer receive trials. Trials are inevitable to gauge our dependence on the Lord. So why do we attend church, read the scriptures, go to the temple, go on missions, say prayers, etc? Because in the words of elder Bednar, " Effective and timely preparation precedes successful proving." Preparation proves effectiveness and dependability rather than stress, awkwardness, doubt and shallow meaning. So keep preparing! Keep studying for that next "test" in your life, because you never know when it's going to come. Prove to God you know he is there! And here's a secret... the answer to your test will always be to trust in God, turn towards the savior, use the enabling power of the atonement!!!
