Week 55: TIME IS FLYING!
Sziasztok! Not a ton of time to write today, but this week was great! We taught every single lesson we had planned to, all 5 people woohoo! The highlights were definitely meeting up with the 2 sixteen year old girls again. We met at the cat Café and had almost a two hour conversation there! We talked about God, missions, prayer, future plans, and the Book of Mormon! At the end we decided to pay for them just to be nice. Someone had payed for us earlier that week so we felt like we should do it for someone else. When they found out we had paid they were so shocked and excited! As we walked out they expressed that they had been apprehensive about our meeting because they didn't know if we would be strict or what our religion was exactly. But after talking with us they both said they felt so light and hopeful. As we continued walking down the street with them, "E "walked into a fancy jewelry shop and we followed her in. She went behind the counter, grabbed a key and started opening up the cases... we were so confused as she slipped a bracelet and each of our wrists and removed the price tag. Turns out this was her family business! She introduced us to her grandma who gave us both huge hugs and said we have "pure hearts she could just tell!" It was one of those moments where things just came around for good. That was a lesson I guess I learned this week. I little bit of kindness can go a long way, and it sometimes comes around again to benefit you!
I sang "Glorious" (originally by David Archuleta) in Hungarian at the Relief Society East conference! We took Friday and Saturday to travel to Debrecen and stay over with the sisters so we could attend the conference in the morning. It was all about every person belonging! Every person is a piece in this great work. There were get to know you games, musical numbers, meals and spiritual devotionals. It was awesome!
Elder Bednar comes to our mission in 3 days! We have been studying 5 of his talks before he comes. I know I should not have favorites but I LOVE "Converted unto the Lord." It has really resonated with me. The other talk is "Ask in Faith." It has changed the way I pray. From one of his talks he says obedience is not an irritant but a quest. That makes the gospel so exciting!
About a year ago I started to make a list of all the topics I don't understand in the gospel but would like to. Some topics include meekness, becoming like a child, the temple and its importance. This also includes questions like how do miracles work, how can I fulfill my covenants and what does Zion mean? I had a funny thought that before I can ever go inactive in this church, I have to study my entire list, completely understand all of it, and then I can go inactive. ( which of course is a joke because after really studying all of these it would be entirely impossible. I love Jesus Christ. I love my Heavenly Father. If you feel like you don't belong, remember that people are imperfect, but God is perfect and there is space for you. There is a place for you and Christ had a whole bunch of "odd" seeming followers anyway! I invite you to go read from the New Testament and notice how different each one of his followers are.
Jó hetet kívánok!
